No pressure, just my first writing assignment since Mrs. Williamson’s 10th grade English class at B-CC High School. Thankfully, there are no grades. Deep breaths. Here we go…
Welcome to Saul’s Station! This is our new platform to talk to all of you in our diesel world about what is going on at Goldfarb & Associates, the diesel core market, and anything else that we find interesting or important. I hope you find the content interesting, and I really encourage any feedback from you. Good or bad, it will help me with future “Saul’s Stations” and would be very much appreciated.
For today, I’d like to introduce our team here at Goldfarb & Associates! It is the best team we have had in the 24 years that we have been in business. Not only do they work hard, they care about their co-workers here at G & A (as much as our customers and vendors), but they also make work fun every single day.
The first voice you might hear when you call us is Melissa Adkins. Melissa is in charge of so many things. Her title is Administrative Assistant, but she handles an incredible array of tasks. From freight logistics to ordering supplies, she has her hand in almost every transaction at G & A. AND she babysits and loves my dog, Lilly, like her own.
Our top notch sales team is next. Karla Marroquin, our Latin American Sales Manager, has been with us since 2007. She’s a dynamic, hard-working presence. She knows everyone in the Latin American diesel industry, is the single best trade show representative, and she’s a fashionista! You don’t see many of those in our industry. Barry Sandler, our US Sales Manager, was a star athlete (in his mind) in high school and college. He now brings that competitive drive to us every day. A perpetual smile on his face, Barry is the 2nd best gardener at G & A. Bojan Novevski is our E-Commerce Sales Manager. He handles all of our online sales for our website and Ebay. He works with our vendors to bring you all the thousands of parts we list online. Bojan is from Macedonia, and his dog, Maya, wins cutest dog at the office. He also makes delicious Macedonian BBQ and plays a mean bass. Brant Freed is our turbocharger specialist, jack-of-all-trades, and is our longest tenured employee. He began his career with us in 2005. Brant grew up across the street from the house my wife Elissa and I still live in. He even babysat Scott a few times!
Our warehouse crew is managed by Kevin Bustamante, AKA Handsome Kevin. Let me just say that in my 40 years in the core business, our warehouse has never looked cleaner, more organized, or run as efficiently as it does now. And that is because of Kevin and his team. Evan Friedman is our fuel injector specialist and CBBQO (Chief BBQ Officer). Not that Evan is a Grillmaster. He isn’t. He just hounds me to always have a company BBQ on the calendar because he loves BBQs. He also supplies fantastic chocolate cake for these events, courtesy of his talented mother. Lastly, our newest member of the team is Jose Carbajal. Jose has been a great addition to G & A. He is super reliable, always looking for the next project, and works hard all the time. Jose is also a huge Marvel fan and has great taste in music. Did I mention he has 5 kids! How does he do it???
Did I say “lastly”? Perhaps I forgot to mention my middle son, Scott Goldfarb. Scott has been quietly staging a coup at G & A ever since he started working here in 2014. Like me, he went off to college and earned a degree in Engineering. His degree is in mechanical, mine is electrical. Scott is working hard to bring G & A along to its next incarnation. Working with technology and the latest business ideas, Scott will push us along into an exciting and successful new phase at G & A. This newsletter is one of those steps, albeit a very small one. His dog Cody may also be staging his own coup to dethrone Maya as the cutest dog.
Lastly #2, my wife Elissa Goldfarb. She is actually the longest tenured employee. Elissa fills in wherever needed. She is in charge of HR, handles the insurance, chips in on Holiday Parties (chips in is a very liberal term for takes charge) and handles all of our vacation travel planning. She really does have tenure at G & A.
So there you have it! These are the amazing people that work at our warehouse and have helped make G & A such a great place to work. You can see what we all look like at https://goldfarbinc.com/pages/our-company. Thank you to all of you who have also made our jobs and lives better. We appreciate your business and look forward to speaking with you soon!
